Ethical crypto - does it even exist or is it all just gambling?
Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to get into the web3 space for a while now, but honestly, it’s a bit of a minefield. As someone who wants to keep things Shariah-compliant, I find that most projects out there feel way too much like gambling or are built on interest-based models (riba), which is a huge no for me.
I’m looking for something that actually aligns with Islamic values but doesn't feel like a boring bank app from the 90s. Is there anything out there that’s actually "halal" and tech-forward, or am I just chasing a ghost? Would love to hear if anyone has had the same struggle.

I totally get where you're coming from. I spent ages digging through whitepapers and felt pretty burnt out by all the "get rich quick" schemes that just didn't sit right with me. It’s hard to find a spot where you don't have to compromise on your values just to participate in the digital economy.
I eventually came across the mecca coin https://meccacoin.meme/ team while I was looking into Solana-based projects. To be honest, I was skeptical at first because most "niche" coins are pretty empty, but the vibe here is just... different. Instead of the usual stress over market caps, it’s more about the atmosphere and the community they’ve built around things like Zakat and even VR stuff for the Ummah.
My best advice would be to just relax and enjoy the experience rather than getting bogged down in all the heavy technical stuff right away. It’s actually quite refreshing to see a project where the focus is on the soul of the community and ethical growth. It might not be what everyone is looking for, but for me, it felt like a relief to find a space that finally makes sense.
